ORIGINS :
Founded in 2002 in a small warehouse in the Scottsdale Airpark, Soul Cycles original goal was to design and produce small batches of rigid niche market aluminum frames and offer them at reasonable prices. Since then the company has moved three times and is now settled comfortably in an Industrial park in Tempe, still designing and producing frames, but combining the niche with mainstream and working with CrMo as well as aluminum.

THE DESIGN SIDE :
Every frame that we release is conceived and designed by us. Up until late 2005 we handled design and production for a handful of other companies in the United States and Canada, but due to time and resource constraints we no longer offer these services. We work mainly on the three following principals:

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler.
Useless complexity serves no one in our opinion. More parts typically equal more problems and cost for both us and the end customer. A shock only moves in one direction, the goal is to get that shock to move ideally for the desired application, while retaining frame stiffness and good component functionality. To do this you typically don't need a dozen machined parts and 2 dozen bolts.

Make it multi-purpose if applicable.
One bike can support multiple set ups without going overboard on the "cheese" factor. For example a singlespeed can also be designed to function as a geared rig, essentially turning it into 2 frames. A bike can have both v-brake mounts and disc mounts without looking clunky.

Design it to be easily serviced by the end user.
We try to design our frames to be serviced by the end user with basic tools. We stay away from unusual proprietary and semi-proprietary standards. 25mm front hub axles? 165mm rear hubs? Proprietary shocks? Forget it. We want you to be able to build our frame however you want. Choice is a wonderful thing.

NO OVERPRICED SERVICE PARTS :
One of the semi-evil byproducts of frame design is proprietary parts. Typically better function and aesthetics come from custom designed parts. We are committed and always been to providing the customer with reasonably priced replacement parts, and in many cases replacing them at no charge. You won't find us charge $60 for a decal set or $15 for a derailleur hanger, we give them away at no charge to frame owners.

BUILD KITS (COMING IN 2008) :
With most companies your only choice is either a frame, or a complete bike. There is no middle ground. If you buy just the frame you spend a fortune purchasing aftermarket parts for it. If you buy the complete bike you often get stuck with proprietary OEM parts and odd combinations. We fixed this problem. With the purchase of a frame you get to pick and choose as many or as few build components your would like using our online build kit assembler.

CRASH REPLACEMENT :
If at any time during your ownership of a Soul Cycles product you are involved in a crash severe enough to break or crack the product simply contact us. We offer a number of flexible, discounted replacement solutions.
